

CALLING ALL ENGINESIf you ask anyone who has ever been to The Fat Controller's railway, they will tell you that it is indeed a very lovely place. Some people visit the railway for the beatiful sights to see; others visit it just to see the famous engines that live there. If you ask any engine who lives there, they'll tell you that there's no better place for an engine to live. Naturally, with all the tourists an visitors, the railway gets very busy. One morning, The Fat Controller came to Tidmouth Sheds, where Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Duck, Donald, Douglas and Oliver slept. He had very important news. MOLLY'S SPECIALThomas' branch line was busier than ever. Percy was away doing odd jobs on the main line, because according to The Fat Controller, a special was coming to Ffharquar.MOLLY'S SPECIAL
"Wouldn't it only be fair, sir, for Percy to see the special too?" asked Thomas.
"No, no, that won't be nessacary. Percy will see her soon enough anyway," The Fat Controller replied. And with that he left for his office to sort out some paperwork.
"Did you hear that?" said Toby.
"Hear what?" retorted Thomas.
"He said that Percy will see her soon enough. Usually special trains aren't refered to as "her"!"


NEVILLEOne morning, The Fat Controller came to Tidmouth Station. He had a very important announcement to make to the main line engines.NEVILLE
"A new engine has been drafted to help Donald and Douglas with the heavy goods work," he said. "He is called Neville, and I expect that all of you will make him feel welcome. That is all!"
When the Fat Controller left, the engines began to talk excitedly amongst themselves.
"A new engine, eh?" remarked Gordon.
"The Fat Controller's got it right this time!" said James happily. "Now he won't need ME to be meddling with trucks!"
"Aye," agreed Donald.


RUSTY, THUMPER AND THE BOULDERThe Skarloey Railway was undergoing big changes. An extension to the railway was being built into the mountains beyond the quarry. It was a massive project, so all of the engines were involved. While Bertie and the other busses looked after the passengers, the engines bustled back and forth from the junction at Crovan's Gate to the construction site, their trucks loaded with goods from The Fat Controller's railway.RUSTY, THUMPER AND THE BOULDER
